Friday 02 June 2017 Saw King Colobus, waxx and Warhorns play the Junction in Plymouth

First up were Warhorns, a three piece alternative Rock band based in Devon with Brothers Matty Clements on Bass and Jym Clements on Drums, with Jak Paxton on Guitar and vocals. The band have played on BBC's Introducing and the trio impressed with a solid set that went down so well King Colobus donned Warhorns T-Shirts for their set later in the evening! Check out the video for the single release from their debut EP 'I am the Sun' here

Waxx were next up and did a sterling job of getting the Junction regulars up on their feet. The Cornish two piece, Lee'Pixie' Matthews on bass guitar and vocals and Bubs Taylor on Drums and Vox make a big sound.

King Colobus delivered as always and the band played a few newer tracks with new song 'Messenger' arriving fully formed and still ringing in my, and a few other fans heads, long after the band had finished playing. The band have continued to evolve and are much more than just a tight rock band. There is a great deal of craft and nuance in both their playing and songwriting, and even in the the darkest and most intense moments there is a real joy and fire in the dynamics of their playing. The band are about to go and record some new material and I can highly recommend catching them live around Devon and Cornwall if you like Queens of the Stone Age, Pavement, Interpol wit a UK Rock twist.

The Junction continues to put on quality nights like this week after week, all year around, and with a solid line up of local bands, long may it continue.
